Flipping it upside-down!

After six months of working at Radisson Blu Bodø, I'm doing my first night-shift tomorrow (technically today, but I haven't slept yet). Quite excited about this, even though it's just as training. Will be the one to fill in if one of the usual guys get sick, go on vacation or just want some time off. One would think that, after years of sleeping during the day and staying awake half the night, not to mention a couple of weeks (months) of working nothing but late- and night shifts, I'd have no problem staying up all night.

I do.

Seriously, I think I might have fallen asleep while I was getting coffee. And yes, at times like this, I drink coffee. Black (with tons of sugar and milk). Had three cups so far. So while my brain is going; "woooowooowoooooo", my body is going; "...this ain't gonna happen".

Please imagine that that puppys leg is my brain.. woowoowoo!
To top it all of, my wonderful boyfriend is sleeping in the next room. He's got the early shift tomorrow, which means that I have to stay kindofsortof quiet. Been playing Destiny (on really low volume) for a couple of hours now, but it just got to complicated for my brain to comprehend.

I'm starting to feel really bad for the guy who's training me tomorrow, since this probably will be me around 3am:

December

December, oh, how I love you.
All the stress, all the work, all the shopping, the smell of cookies, wrapping the presents, cleaning and the decorations. I just love all of it.

I'm all done at work for this year, and it feels so good. Been working like crazy since mid-November, and truly feel like I've earned some time off. Had a wonderful lunch with my colleagues yesterday, with tons of food and laughter, bought the last presents today, and now I'm planning on spending the last days before Christmas doing nothing. Just enjoying the days, feeling lazy and spend time with my family, my boyfriend and my friends. It's the most wonderful time of the year.

So everyone - enjoy your weekend, enjoy Christmas and I hope all of you will have a wonderful time filled with hot chocolate, cookies, and tons of food.

Working at a hotel

The truth about working in the hotel business during holiday seasons is quite simple - you're on the clock 24/7. It's crazy, tons of work, horrible hours, long days, you're constantly exhausted and dying for a shower, your uniform smells like a bar, you have bags under your eyes, there's no such thing as a social life...

I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted! I would have added 'physically', but I can still move my pinky.

I've been working for a week straight now, somewhere between 8 and 12 hours a day. Had one day off last monday, and worked a full week before that. Yes, the days are long, and bed is the most amazing place after a long day, but the adrenalin makes it impossible to sleep. My feet are dying, my hair is a constant mess, and I can't even begin to describe how much fun I've had the past weeks (neither shall it be mention how much coffee/redbull/tea I've had).

It ruins your day when you run out of coffee at work. | 28 Problems All Coffee Addicts Will Understand

Last weekend I worked a total of 29 hours in three days, and started at 7 a.m. monday morning. Actually forgot my glasses just because I was so tired. Weird thing was - it felt just the same as an 8 hour shift any other day. There's so much stuff happening, so many people and so much noise/music (whatever you want to call it), you don't really notice the time.
And yes, most of the people I meet during the weekend are either drunk or stressed, but they're nice nevertheless. Been working wardrobe two weekends in a row (going on three), and people are so.. funny (lacking a better word). I've gotten flowers, been offered a ride home (to a random guys place), offered drinks and so on. And everyone is just really pleasant. Not one of these drunk-off-their-asses people have been rude or annoying or unpleasant. And if they are - I actually have security standing with me all night, which makes me feel something like this:

Don't get me wrong - I'm super excited for Friday. It's my day off, and I plan on spending it with my feet high, with the great company of a glass of wine and some chocolate. Not to mention the fact that I don't have any exams to study for!

Tomorrow

First off; Yesterday was a slow night at work. Had some Aussies come in, and one of them could easily charm a girls pants off.
He came in to the reception, slightly drunk, and sang me a song. He then noticed my tattoo, and we had a discussion about New Zealand vs. Australia. He decided that he needed to sign our "divorce papers", and I handed him a piece of paper and a pen. He wrote his name and number (and room number), and told me to give him a call if I woke up early (or come to his room). Did I mention that this guy was Australian and oh so fine?

Why hello flirty funny quote to make you smile

To the amazing Australian guy: you made my week!

More to the point: It's finally here!
My very last day in Lillehammer. And I'll be spending it in bed, sleeping. Still working nights, and my body is so fucked up from working way too many days in a row. Oh well, last shift starts in 13 hours.

Tomorrow I end my shift at 7am. Will go home, take a shower, have some breakfast, go back to work (have to say byebye to everyone), getting a taxi to the station, and putting my ass on the train. Spending the day in Trondheim, and taking the night-train to Bodø, arriving at 9am on Tuesday.
Still can't believe that this is my last day!!!

If I had the night off I'd have a glass of whiskey, just to toast the city, the people and the memories.

Guess I could do that with some iced coffee tonight.
Cheers!

Something I need

I've spent all weekend either in bed or at work. Night-shifts are crap, I really don't understand how people do it. It's not bad being at work, just the whole sleeping all day thing is throwing me off.

Oh well. Got a couple of days off work, and I'll probably go crazy. Got my oral exam tomorrow, which means that I'm officially not a student anymore at 2pm! (unless I fail...)
Seriously tho, my life really is rather boring these days. I'm working, eating, sleeping, and cleaning.
Nothing interesting really.

Lastly: this song is amazing

It's alive

I'm not dead, I swear!
Things have been slightly crazy since school "ended".
Been working, home, working, working and working. The few days I've had off have been spent with friends, or just reading in the sun.
Working nights this weekend, having my final exam (like, ever!!) on Monday, and going back home for two days at the end of next week (and working in between, of course). As I said, crazy.

Other than that my life isn't all that interesting. It's been really sunny for the past weeks (on and off), and I've been working on my tan. Which means I'm not see-through anymore. Go me!

Ok... time to sleep. Will do my best to get up early tomorrow, and sleep in the afternoon. And work all night. I love my energydrinks.

Next week

First of all - I had a great weekend.
Friday was such a great day with Ingrid. Food, wine and crappy tv. Love it.
Saturday I went to the gym, then drank it all away. Pre-gaming with the girls was so much fun!
Today I've done nothing. Watched True Detective, talked on the phone, and been stuck to my computer.

Next week is going to be a tad bit crazy!
Monday-Thursday will be spent in my books, as my exam is creeping up on me. I'm also helping a friend with her paper, and going to the gym of course.

Friday I'm gonna study, clean and drink. It's a byebye party for the same friend (sadface). Saturday is the 17th of May, and our national day. Another friend is coming to visit, I'm hosting a breakfast, I'll be wearing my bunad (which is amazing), and drinking mimosa. Funfunfun!

Bring it on!

All of me

These songs are... there's no words for it. Just beautiful.
Been playing them on repeat for the past couple of days, and just can't get enough.
I'm working this weekend, so I'll pretend that tomorrow is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all packed into one day. Will be busy relaxing, eating candy and watching movies. It'll be great.

Relax

I've had the most amazing weekend.
The plan was a girls night out, but I cancelled simply because I didn't feel like going out. My body is telling me this was the right decision, and is more than ready to take on the next two weeks of work, school and everything else.

I'm in a good place. Realxed, but filled with energy. Happy, calm and collected.
My mind is clear, I can take on anything. I never thought one weekend of diconnecting from the world could make this much of a difference.

The end of messy me

I've had the most amazing Sunday in ages. Even though I worked the night-shift and didn't go to sleep until 8am, I felt well rested and good. Ingrid stopped by for a tiny bit (she has no internet at home, I do), we had some wine and chocolate. After she left I took a long shower, put on nail polish and had more wine. I did some planning for next week (what, when and where) and put on good music and just relaxed in my own company.

I've spent the past two hours talking to someone who's very dear to me. One of those people that I can tell anything to and not be judged. Can't wait to go home, I still need a hug after a long week.

You're the only one that matters anyways.

Anyways, soon we'll start a new week, and my calendar is full (as always).
Tomorrow will be spent at school while working on a paper in labor law, buying food for the week, and going to the gym. Tuesday will be pretty much the same; school, gym and packing.
Wednesday is full of school and traveling. Going home for something like 32 hours, just for an interview, and of course seeing some of my friends and family.

After a day like this I feel ready to take on anything. All I need to get back on track after a long week is some time to unwind, shave my legs, put on some pretty colours, and I'm good to go.

Home

I spent the weekend in Bodø with friends and family, and it was just as amazing as last time.
This feeling of home is something I've lost at Lillehammer. And it makes me sad, because I have friends, school, work and everything else down here.

As you might have figured out by now I have a huge urge to travel, and experience new things. This urge makes it even harder for me to not have the feeling of home in the city I live in. It makes me relax and not stress as much as I usually do. It makes me realize what Bodø has to offer.
The good thing is that it makes me even more sure that I have to move back. I have to find a way to get back home.

The viking in me needs to go home.

Super Bowl

Hi sweeties.
I've been challenged to watch super bowl, and to watch the entire game. Challenge accepted!
Just had to google American Football for dummies.. It's gonna be a long night. For those of you reading this from anywhere else than Norway - it's 12.30am, and I'm close to praying for kick-off!

I have tried, for the past three years, to watch the super bowl. I've also failed each time, fallen asleep on the floor. This time I come prepared! Coca Cola, coffee, water, food. I'm good to go! If all else fails - I have pills (like, energy pills, not drugs).

So far my conclusion is:
1. Americans are craycray!
2. There's a lot of them
3. The players are HUGE!
4. I have no idea who's playing, how they get points or who's gonna win.
5. I'm excited for the half-time show!

Aaaaand we're ready!
Gogo whoever wins!
Enjoy the game people, or a good nights sleep.

It's almost Monday!

And the weekend has once again come to an end.
Yesterday was great, and as always I forgot to bring my camera...
Worked for a couple of hours in the morning, slept for a while before I got ready. Got a tiny bit tipsy with a friend of mine, and we danced our asses off!
She found out that I don't let guys mess with me. Had one guy with his hand under my skirt. This resultet in him flying across the dancefloor. That's what you get.

I've spent most of today in bed, watching series and other fun stuff. It's been a proper Sunday.
Tomorrow brings me back to reality, and I'm starting working out again. It's about time, summer is just around the corner! Hoping it'll get my appetite going again as well. Been so sick of all kinds of food lately, and I miss eating like a horse (and going to the gym). I'll probably lie flat on the floor afterwards but you know...
This will be me...
Anyone who wants to work out with me?

Good night angels <3

Thank God It's Friday!

I'm still nok quite ready to start the weekend, still have a couple of hours left at work. And that's fine, something tells me it's going to be a bussy morning. After work it's time for some shopping, an hour or two of sleep before I start the rituale of cleaning, eating and getting ready to go out! Have no idea what to wear (as always), but I'll find something.

Oh, I made a new friend today.

Not quite - but close enough.
I'm doing a class in International Politics this semester, and been really freaked out because I don't know anyone. And today was the dreaded day where we had to pick groups to work in for the rest of the semester. Ended up in a group of five guys, who all seem really nice. Problem? They're four years younger than me. It makes me feel so old. And I can't remember looking that young at 19...

Now, if you'll excuse me - I have to take a shower and go to bed.

Love my job!

I love my job! As I've mentioned earlier I'm working two part-time jobs, one of them as a receptionist, the other as event hostess. I really feel lucky to be able to do both, but being part of big and small events... SO much fun! This weekend there was an huge event. Yesterday was spent in the snow from 3pm-8pm, lighting candels, clearing snow from the field, running up and down in half a meter of snow. This was the opening ceremony for the whole event. They had people coming down the hill on skis, fireworks, music and so much more. It was amazing!

Today was the big day for activites. I was responsible for sled-hockey! Had never done it before, but we worked it out eventually, and everyone had a lot of fun! I almost fell over on the ice laughing - some of the participants fell over and could not get back up. All in all - it seemed like everyone enjoyed the activities, even thought we had -8 and snow all day (it's been a week and it's still snowing...), and I had a lot of fun as well!

Love my job, and all the people I meet doing it!

Tomorrow I'm doing all the cleaning that I've been planning for a week. My livingroom looks like, well.. shit, really. I'm doing a lunch-date with a friend of mine on monday, and tomorrow is the only day I have off. It has to be done!

Anyways - Had enough fresh air for a lifetime, and feeling slightly exhausted. Nightynight!

Weekend?

There are few things on a man that's as sexy as (well done) tattoos. The same goes for women, but that's not really my departement. Still - I just love it when a person puts a piece of art on their body!
Can't wait for tomorrow, super excited to get my new tattoo, and it's all I can think about right now! And the fact that my perception of time is really fucked up. In my head it's Sunday today, just because I ended up working all of last week, and had my "Saturday" yesterday.

So ayways.
Tomorrow is the big day, and I know I'm gonna be exhausted afterwards, so I'm planning on cleaning the apartment, doing the dishes, and making enough dinner for two days, all before I go to bed. We'll see if I'm able to follow through with it, or if my xbox shouths louder than all of it.

Back to normal

Had a blast last night. Went out with two amazing girls, got a tiny bit tipsy and had so much fun. We danced, flirtet and laughed. I even had a guy buying me a drink. It's been a while!
All that fun had to bite me in the ass, and I've spent all day in bed/on the couch playing xbox and sleeping.

I did something productive today - filling in my calendar. It's packed, and that's just school and work for this month. Was planning on hosting a small dinner for the girls, but not so sure I can fit it in anywhere. We'll see.
Oh, and I'm getting inked. Getting an apponintment on tuesday, and allready feeling excited! It'll be my fourth, and probably just as painfull as the rest of them (if not more).

Lastly - these songs are being played on repeat, lovelovelove them.

Marry Me - Jason Derulo

Say Something - A great big world & Christina Aguilera

John Doe - B.o.B & Priscilla

Vertigo - Jason Derulo & Jordin Sparks

Eksamensuke

Da var endelig eksamen over for denne gang.

Exams are finally over. It's been a really long week, and we spent two days at school without going home at all. 32 hours. Awake for 34 before we handed in the papers. Slept for about half an hour on the floor. No idea what we delivered, just know we did.
As a reward after it all, I went to Clinique Claudia to put on some wonderful acylic nails. Felt so good.
The plan for day is to make food for the cutest girls, doing some laundry (about time), and some cleaning. The house gets messy when you spend about 60 hours at school in a 5-day period. Tomorrow is my last shift before the hollidays. Thursday is D-day, and I'm putting my butt on a train to go home. Can't wait!

Enjoy your weekend!

World Cup

Wuhu!

What an amazing weekend. We had so much fun at the World Cup Lillehammer Nordic Skiing. Spent most of my time at the ski-jump arena but managed to get up to Birkebeinerstadion (cross-country arena) today. Friday gave us some terrible weather. Freezing temperatures, with snow and wind. Yesterday was a lot better. It was amazing actually. Sun came out, as well as half of Lillehammer! I made about 200 waffels. It was really funny to watch all the foreign press eat the Norwegian(ish) version of waffles. They put ham and brown-cheese on it, which is funny if you're Norwegian... I did the same today, and went to see the cross-county combined. And that's where the pictures are from, even though they're not the best.
Just charging my batteries for next weeks exam, starting tomorrow I'll be living at school. Wish me luck!
